Clarks Shoes Immersive Experience
Year: 2016
Location: Artscape Youngplace, Toronto
In Collaboration With: Derooted
Client: Clarks
A wooden sculpture was created in collaboration with Derooted Immersive, inspired by Clarks’ Trigenic Flex line, a shoe design renowned for its ergonomic structure and fluid motion. The piece translated the dynamic flexibility of the shoe into a sculptural form, embodying movement, craftsmanship, and innovation.
Conceptual development, material selection, and fabrication focused on capturing the synergy between organic motion and structural precision. The sculpture’s flowing contours mirrored the shoe’s ability to adapt to the foot while maintaining a strong architectural presence.

To enhance the experience, 3D projection mapping was integrated, transforming the sculpture into a dynamic, immersive installation. Digital textures, light, and motion interacted with the form, blurring the line between physical and virtual design.

Presented at Artscape Youngplace, the project highlighted the intersection of tradition and technology, merging handcrafted design with contemporary digital media. This fusion created a multisensory experience that invited engagement, reflection, and exploration of form and functionality.
